Music, merriment and fallen fruits: on board our spectacular Spring Cruise!
Last week we ushered in spring in the capital with a spectacular event aboard P.S Elizabethan.
As a gorgeous sunset enveloped London on the evening of Thursday 28 March, guests made their way down to a beautifully lit Butler's Wharf Pier, our fleet's home just a stone's throw from Tower Bridge. Here they were greeted with colourful, gravity-defying stilt walkers and the soothing sounds of Acoustik, a leading two-piece cover band. Both acts feature in our new 2019/20 entertainment brochure.
Before setting sail aboard our stunning replica paddle steamer, attendees were given guided tours of Dixie Queen and Edwardian. The vessels had been set up to showcase corporate event layouts, and this is what they saw...
Dixie Queen
London's largest luxury floating event venue was set up to demonstrate how she can look for large scale conferences. Her upper deck was laid out with theatre style seating, with stunning additional lighting, surround sound systems and HD screens provided by LC AV Productions.
Given her space and flexible layout, Dixie Queen is capable of hosting virtually any corporate or private event. Enhanced AV systems such as these can really add the finishing touches to your event, whether it be for a live DJ, band, or perhaps when showcasing your brand at a product launch. She really is a unique venue for hire.
Edwardian
Our luxurious venue for smaller events, Edwardian, was set up for a boardroom style meeting on her lower deck. Meanwhile, her open upper deck looked resplendent in the setting sun, with cosy deckchairs on offer for those who wanted to sit down and simply take in the moment.
Edwardian provides truly inspirational settings for getting work done in style as part of our meeting and conference cruises. She is also perfect as an intimate venue for other events, such as working lunches, dinner dances and celebrations all year round.
Elizabethan
The evening's main event took place aboard Elizabethan, as we departed Butler's Wharf Pier for a two-hour cruise through the heart of London. Her lower deck glistened in custom mood lighting, with English country garden themed cuisine wonderfully complementing the spring feel on board. Those on board were also able to capture the moment in the Boxless Booths photo booth, in front of a beautiful flower wall from Mimi & Lu.
Meanwhile, there was plenty to enjoy on her upper deck. As guests sipped on their refreshing bespoke cocktails, the entertainment started in earnest. The fabulous Acoustik continued their superb set, while live event artist Lucy McLoughlin proved to be a huge hit, as she didn't stop painting all night long! An eye-catching edible "fallen fruits" display, which were actually delectable savoury bites, also wowed guests.
With spring well and truly welcomed it was time to return to Butler's Wharf Pier. It was a fabulous way to mark the start of the busy season on the river and we're excited help you create your very own unique event on the Thames.
