Drums, dancers and a floating beach: Inside Havana Night aboard P.S. Elizabethan!
Come rain or shine, you can always be sure of a fabulous time with Thames Luxury Charters. That is exactly what 90 guests from PA Life enjoyed as part of our Havana Nights-themed event aboard P.S. Elizabethan on Wednesday 8 May 2019.
The wet weather in the build-up to the evening did nothing to dampen excitement, with sunshine breaking out as guests descended a beautifully lit Butler's Wharf Pier. The pier was dressed tropical style, complete with a floating sandy beach and giant deckchair, which is always a popular photo opportunity!
Before setting sail guests were given guided tours of Dixie Queen and Edwardian, which had been set up to showcase other event styles. Here's what they saw...
Dixie Queen
London's largest luxury floating event venue was set up to demonstrate how she can look for large-scale conferences and corporate functions. Her capacious upper deck was laid out with theatre style seating, complete with a giant projector screen on stage. Meanwhile, her immaculate lower deck showcased the ample dining and breakout areas available.
Given her space and highly flexible layout, Dixie Queen is capable of hosting virtually any corporate or private event. Her charter rates adapt around the number of people on board, making her affordable for smaller groups that require the space she offers. She really is a unique venue for hire.

Edwardian
Our luxurious venue for smaller events was set up to demonstrate a fine dining experience on her lower deck. As ever, her open upper deck allowed guests to enjoy breathtaking views of London.
The epitome of British style, Edwardian serves as a perfect intimate venue for many different events all year round. These include working lunches, boardroom meetings, dinner dances, celebrations and much more.

Elizabethan
The evening's main event took place aboard a P.S. Elizabethan adorned with stunning tropical plants, flowers and decorations. The superb DJ Steve Andrews and Eric Young on percussion greeted everyone on board with sounds of beating drums, as guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly to begin an unforgettable evening.
Our award-winning caterers FoodbyDish created a fantastic menu befitting of the occasion, with delectable circulating canapés and a tasty taco bar serving Cuban pulled lamb and shredded chimichurri chicken. A beautifully dressed dessert station provided guests with sweet treats, with all dishes complemented by delicious cocktails.
The fantastic Fluffy Puffin and their bespoke Caribbean-influenced ice creams and sorbets, created especially for the event, also proved to be an absolute hit. Flavours included piña colada, Bounty, tropical sunrise and a unique twist on the traditional 99. Their environmentally friendly "coconut shell" bowls impressed guests too.
Meanwhile on the upper deck, two incredible dancers from Salsa Tropical put on a stunning show which left guests mesmerised. It didn't take long for them to have everyone up on their feet as part of their interactive routines, set to the live band's Latin-infused take on hit pop songs.
The evening's fun-filled atmosphere was wonderfully captured by professional photographer Nathalie Crouch, a long-term friend of TLC, who took these fantastic snaps.
With the Cuban party spirit still echoing through the heart of London, it was time to return to Butler's Wharf Pier following a two-hour cruise. The evening was a fabulous way to showcase what genuinely unique occasions can be crafted aboard the fleet and we're excited to help you create your very own one-of-a-kind event on the Thames.
